It was a busy month for one of my brand clients, but a slower month for my journalism work, as if often the case come December. Still, I was able to notch a major win in my portfolio belt by writing for the Toronto Star, one of Canada’s leading newspapers.
For the Star’s new section Together, I profiled Pancer’s Original Delicatessen, a Toronto foodie institution for all things meaty. Can you believe they’ve been around for 63 years and are busily weathering the pandemic storm with no signs of closing up shop for good, unlike so many other small businesses in the GTA?! Remarkable.
Also in December, I found a new client in Secure Future, a tech publication from the firm Kaspersky. I introduced to their readers the new EVE robot courtesy of Halodi Robotics, an innovative Danish company looking to marry VR technology with robotics. The results is mind-blowingly cool, and I can’t wait to tackle more robotics content in the coming years. It’s always fun to write about whenever I get chance to do it, and I’ve noticed my best writing comes from topics that appeal to me personally, whether it’s corned beef on rye or the next wave of VR-controlled robots.
